In the continuation of the years of his academic formation (1979-1981), the artist Ioan Aurel Mureșan stick to the practice of drawing as medium with autonomous purpose until 1983-1985, expressing himself in the classical techniques, but also preoccupied with the experimentation of various supports – waxed paper, packing paper, colored paper, etc. Later he will transfer this exercise also to painting, trying out different materials as support. After this stage, drawing will be continued in the form of summary notations for the composition of the painting series, recorded in several sketchbooks. Starting with 2000, he stops using drawing as means of visual expression.
