1979-1985: Beginnings

”It has been remarked that Ioan Aurel Mureșan’s artworks never simply reproduced the “matter” as such, they never remain stuck to the amorphous. . They draw from here a principle of fervor and maximum intensity. The fact that the informal experience is merely a convenience for liberation and self-discovery has been proven by the evolution of the artist. The path from non-figurative “signs” and “mythologies” to “masks”, “earths”, and “houses” marks the progression of an ideation and a formal ordering, the allegorical ordering of an expression, the assumption of a face and of a sense by which the painterly matter, already known from the inside, is humanized, re-confined to form, significance, and time.”
